My friend, do you know why Oman Sultans, Portuguese, British all fought to own Zanzibar? Because of this – spices!

Today I will take you to my village. My grandmother still farms spices. You will walk inside the farm, not just look from outside. You touch vanilla, you smell cloves, you taste cinnamon from the tree, you see how pineapple grows upside down!

And at the end, we make a big fruit platter and you eat everything – fresh coconut, jackfruit, durian if you are brave!

This is not a tour. This is lunch at my grandma’s farm.

FULL PROGRAM – YOUR 3-4 HOUR EXPERIENCE

We do tours daily 9AM & 2PM – Morning is best, less hot.

9:00 AM – Pickup & Drive to Village
I pick you from your hotel – Stone Town, Paje, Nungwi, anywhere. We drive to Kizimbani or Kidichi village – 20 min from Stone Town, heart of spice area. On the way I tell you why Zanzibar became rich from spices.

10:00 AM – Welcome With Flowers & Karibu
You arrive, my mama or my uncle welcomes you. They make you a crown from flowers – for ladies beautiful flower crown, for men hat from coconut leaves! You are now a Spice Farmer! We wash hands with lemongrass water. Smells so good.

10:15 AM – The Spice Walk – Smell Everything!
We walk inside the farm, slow slow. The farmer cuts everything fresh for you:

• Cloves: Zanzibar is #1 in the world! You smell it – this is what is in your toothpaste!
• Vanilla: So expensive! We have real vanilla vine – I show you how they pollinate by hand. One flower only one hour!
• Cinnamon: I cut bark from tree, you chew – sweet!
• Cardamom, Black Pepper, Nutmeg, Ginger, Turmeric, Lemongrass – you see all growing, not in powder!
• Lipstick Tree: Ladies love this – red seeds for natural lipstick!
• Iodine Tree, Henna, Perfume Tree – we show you natural medicine.

You can touch, taste, smell everything. We show you how coconut is climbed, how we make coconut oil in front of you.

11:00 AM – The Fruit Tasting – My Favorite
We sit under big mango tree. My mama brings a huge tray – 15 fruits!

Jackfruit, starfruit, pineapple, banana (6 types!), sugar cane, coconut, passion fruit, durian, soursop – all from farm, all just picked this morning. You eat as much as you want. Fresh juice from sugar cane – we press in front of you. You will never taste fruit this fresh in Europe.

11:30 AM – Swahili Lunch & Spice Shopping (Optional)
If you want, we cook small Swahili lunch with spices – Pilau rice, curry, chapati – $10 extra, cooked by my mama. Very tasty, 100% local.

After lunch, you can buy 100% natural spices to take home – $2 per pack. Real, not mixed. I help you get good price, no cheating. Supports the farm family directly.

12:00 PM – Return to Hotel or Continue to Stone Town / Jozani
Back to hotel for relaxing, or we combine with Stone Town / Prison Island.

• Is it tourist trap? My farm is NOT. We have small family farm, not big commercial with 100 tourists. Only 2-6 guests with us. Real experience.
• Can kids enjoy? Kids LOVE it! They climb trees, taste fruits, wear crowns. Very safe.
• What to bring? Closed shoes, hat, empty stomach for fruits! And cash if you want spices.
• Can I buy spices? Yes, $2-$5 per bag. Real, sealed. We pack for airport. No problem at customs.
