Why this tour is special? Tourist think Zanzibar is only beach. But real Zanzibar is inside – monkeys that exist NOWHERE else in world, spices that made Oman Sultans rich, and Stone Town that is 200 years old UNESCO. This tour is like 3 countries in 1 day – forest, farm, old city.

Best for: Day before flight, rainy day, family with kids (monkeys, spices tasting, not too much walking).

WHAT REALLY HAPPENS:

08:30 – Pickup at your hotel – Paje / Stone Town / Jambiani
Our driver – Rashid, Ali, or Omari – comes with AC car, cold water, big smile – says “Habari! Karibu Kwetu!” – not “Hello sir what is your booking number” – family style. Drive 30-45 min – you see villages, kids waving, cows on road – real life.

09:15 – STOP 1: JOZANI FOREST – 1.5 Hours
Entrance $15 included – we pay, no queue.

You meet government guide – but our Karibu Kwetu guide stays with you too – to translate and find more monkeys.

1. Monkey Trail (45 min): Walk in forest – not zoo – monkeys free. Red Colobus Monkeys – only in Zanzibar – 3000 left in world – white and red, no fear of humans. They eat leaves, jump above you. Our guide knows their names – “This is Mzee Kito, lazy one” – you get 1 meter close – photos amazing. Also Blue Monkeys, Bush Babies if lucky.
2. Mangrove Boardwalk (20 min): Wooden bridge through mangrove forest – roots like snakes – crabs walking, birds singing – very quiet – guide tells why mangroves save Zanzibar from tsunami – good for breathing – air is 5°C cooler.
3. Mini Museum: Quick history of forest – why Zanzibar Leopard disappeared – and shop – you can buy organic spices cheap.

10:45 – Drive 15 min to Spice Farm

11:00 – STOP 2: SPICE FARM – 1.5 Hours – The Tasting Part – Everyone Loves This
We choose best farm – not tourist trap where they show 3 plants. Our farm is Tangawizi Spice Farm or Kidichi – owned by Mzee Juma – family farm 20 years.

What happens – you walk, touch, smell, taste:

• See 40+ spices live: Cloves (Zanzibar was 80% world cloves!), vanilla, cardamom, cinnamon (you taste bark), black pepper, lemongrass, nutmeg, turmeric, ginger.
• Fruits tasting: You pick from tree – jackfruit, star fruit, lipstick fruit (you put on lips – girls love), durian if season, pineapple – fresh – not from market.
• Coconut show: Young boy climbs coconut tree in 10 seconds – sings Jambo Bwana – opens coconut with teeth – you drink.
• Traditional lunch included: Pilau rice, chapati, banana stew, fresh juice – cooked with spices you just saw – you eat under mango tree – all included in price.
• Natural cosmetics: You see how they make lipstick from annatto, perfume from ylang ylang – you can buy small packet $2-5 – support farm – no pressure.
• Spice shopping: Small bags $1-3 – real organic – not dust from Stone Town shops – you bring home.

12:30 – Lunch – Under Mango Tree – Included
Pilau, beans, chapati, fruits, juice – vegetarian – you sit with other guests – like family lunch.

13:00 – Drive 30 min to Stone Town

13:30 – STOP 3: STONE TOWN WALKING TOUR – 2 Hours – UNESCO History
You meet our Stone Town guide – born in Stone Town – knows every shortcut – not book guide.

Route we walk – slow, no rush – 2km only – shade:

1. Former Slave Market + Anglican Cathedral (15 min): The most emotional place in Zanzibar – you see small rooms where 75 slaves slept standing – chains on wall – guide tells real story – not made up – you will be quiet – important history.
2. House of Wonders + Old Fort + Forodhani Gardens (10 min outside – inside still closed for renovation): Photo stop – guide explains why House of Wonders had first elevator in Africa.
3. Freddie Mercury House (5 min): Birth house of Queen singer – photo – story – quick.
4. Hamamni Persian Baths (10 min): Old baths 1800s – you enter – cool – hidden.
5. Darajani Market – Local Market (20 min): Best part for real life – fish market – 20kg tuna, spices mountain, women selling – smell, noise – you taste Zanzibar coffee – our guide buys you.
6. Narrow Streets – Shopping (40 min): Walk through streets – doors with spikes (why? guide explains), children playing, men playing bao – you can buy – Tingatinga painting, kanga, spices – we take you to fixed price shop – no scamming – or you bargain yourself – we teach you how.
7. Forodhani Sunset? If you want stay – we leave you there – you can take taxi yourself $10 to Paje – or come back with car 16:00.

15:30 – End of tour – Free time for coffee
We stop at Zanzibar Coffee House or Jafferji House – rooftop – you see sunset over ocean – coffee $2 – optional.

16:00 – Drop back to hotel – Paje / Stone Town

16:30 – Arrive – you have photos 200+ – guide sends via WhatsApp
